John Robin Murphy went from “table-pounding atheist” to a follower of Christ at age 26. Since the first years of his faith, he has pursued making the promises of scripture real in his life. After much frustration, he discovered that without his obedience to God’s call to forgive, there would be no blessing. John’s first breakthrough came with a prayer for God to forgive, heal and bless the abusers of his past. From that point, a dark cloud lifted and a desire grew to share the freedom and peace he received from that act of obedience.
Fifteen years later, he discovered that forgiveness is just one part of God’s plan to transform His people into the image of Christ. His years of lay ministry brought John to a place of understanding that God’s call to be transformed meant submitting to His will in every aspect of our lives, so that God can mold us into the image of Christ inwardly. It suddenly became clear to him while ministering in a life recovery program that there is no sustained life change without heart transformation. And, that transformation comes from complying with God’s desire for heart change, not just emersion in scripture, church activities and trying to act like Christ.
Responding to a sense of urgency to share this important truth and more, John authored a book entitled Be Transformed – New Life Awaits. The book is about the common call of all mankind to be transformed into God’s image and reap the benefits of a new life. Be Transformed pulls together stories, personal testimony, Holy Spirit-led revelation, and the word of God to unveil a powerful truth and deliver a life-changing challenge. John decided to turn his focus away from a successful career developing and launching revenue growth strategies for corporations to found Rock House Way to advance God’s call through transformational materials and events.
John’s work has been endorsed, featured, adopted and/or recommended by a wide variety of churches and faith-based ministries. It has been demonstrated to be very effective in general discipleship to the body of Christ, men’s ministry, and faith based recovery programs that target the addicted and incarcerated. Since founding Rock House Way, John has worked with and presented to many types of people including pastors, CEO’s of large corporations, men’s ministries, men and women in recovery, churches, prisoners in maximum security and more.
