Be Transformed

Meet John Robin Murphy

John Robin Murphy became a follower of Christ at the age of 26, ending his days as a “table-pounding atheist.” He has pursued the fulfillment of Scripture in his life since the early days of his faith. After years of frustration, he discovered that no blessing would come without obedience to God’s command of forgiveness. John’s first breakthrough came with a prayer for God to forgive, heal and bless the abusers of his past. A dark cloud instantly lifted and a desire grew to share the freedom and peace he received from that act of obedience.

Fifteen years later, John discovered that forgiveness is just one part of God’s plan to transform people into the image of Christ. Years of lay ministry brought him to a place of understanding that God’s call to be transformed meant submitting to His will in every aspect of our lives, so that God can mold us into the image of Christ inwardly. It suddenly became clear while ministering in a life recover program that there is no sustained life change without heart transformation. And that transformation comes from complying with God’s desire for heart change, not just immersion in Scripture, church activities and trying to act Christ-like.

Responding with urgency to share these truths and others, John wrote a book called Be Transformed – New Life Awaits. It outlines the common call to all of us to be transformed into God’s image and reap the benefits of a new life. Be Transformed pulls together stories, personal testimony, Holy Spirit-led revelation and the word of God to unveil powerful truths and deliver a life-changing challenge.

John chose to turn his focus away from a successful career to found Rock House Way and advance God’s call through transformational materials and events. His recently completed 12 week study, Be Transformed – The Workbook Edition, has proven to serve as a foundational tool to advance spiritual development and emotional health in a wide range of situations.

John’s work has been endorsed, featured, adopted and/or recommended by a wide variety of churches and faith-based ministries. Since founding Rock House Way, John has worked with and presented to a wide variety of people including pastors, CEOs, inmates in maximum security prisons, men’s ministries, men and women in addiction recovery programs, churches and more.

John is a husband and father of two young men. He is a member and teaching elder of St. Paul Community Church and an associate member of The Nashville Area Association of Christian Counselors.
